About the Speaker: Vlad Zubok


Vladislav M. Zubok is a Professor of History at Temple University who currently is on a fellowship at Stanford and in May will start as Chair in International History at the London School of Economics. This will be the third time he has talked to the Denver World Affairs Council.


The winner of many scholarly honors, he also has made over 20 appearances on CNN. Educated in the Soviet Union he received his doctoral degree from the Institute of U.S. and Canada Studies of the Soviet Academy of Sciences where he continued his work from 1985 to 1991, rising to Senior Research Fellow. Since then he has worked in the U.S., joining the Temple faculty in 2001.


The best known of his six published books is "Inside the Kremlin's Cold War: From Stalin to Krushchev" which won the Lionel Gelber Prize as the best book on international relations. His most recent book is "Zhivago's Children: The Last Russian Intelligensia."
