Volunteer or Intern

WorldDenver offers unique opportunities to work in a variety of responsible positions to fulfill our mission of citizen diplomacy and global understanding.  Our volunteer positions include engaging with participants in the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), arranging home hosting for visiting delegations, arranging events for the Denver World Affairs Council (DWAC), social media, website and other marketing initiatives, membership outreach, and fund-raising.

All internships and volunteer positions are designed to provide the participants a professional and skills-enhancing experience while maximizing the bandwidth of our small staff.  We ask that you are able to make a minimum time commitment of 3 months and in turn you will receive training, a complimentary annual WorldDenver membership, free access to all our non-meal events, and the recognition and pride that comes with making a real impact in the world.

Volunteer Stories:

Why would anyone stop volunteering for WorldDenver? Oh, well, to start volunteering at the World Affairs Council of Oregon, of course. Over the past five years I have had the opportunity to hear from and meet politicians, subject-matter experts, journalists, actors, activists and others who came to Denver to broaden our knowledge and increase our capacity for empathy and mutual understanding. I know that writing about their visits for the WorldDenver website and having them in my home certainly did those things for me. I have tremendous regard for WorldDenver and staff and have been fortunate to have the opportunity to donate my time to further the mission of the organization. I started my work in world affairs in DC, jumped on board in Denver and am taking it further west. Thank you again for the opportunity!
